HeyTech is a small, local, on-site IT support service for homes and small businesses across Greater Hobart. We come to you, fix what's wrong, and write down what we did so the next visit doesn't start from scratch.

How it started

One car, one phone, too many family calls.

HeyTech started in 2016, after Owen — our founder — answered one too many family calls about slow laptops, locked-out emails and Wi-Fi that wouldn't reach the back room. The honest problem wasn't the tech. It was that he didn't know anyone in Hobart he'd happily send to his nan to fix it.

So he started doing it himself. The first six months were one tech, one car, and a phone that rang more often than expected. The model hasn't really changed since — just more visits, more locals, and a sharper sense of what actually solves the problem.

The visit might be a slow laptop, a Wi-Fi dead spot, an iPhone that's locked someone out of their accounts, a printer that's gone offline again, a small office whose Microsoft 365 needs sorting, or a scammed device that needs a clearance letter for the bank.
