● What we help with

Wi-Fi or internet causing problems? We’ve seen it before.

01

Weak Wi-Fi & dead spots

The signal stops at the laundry door, the back bedroom drops every video call, the granny flat may as well be on a different planet. We work out where the signal is dying and fix it properly — better placement, a mesh system, or a wired access point if that's what it actually needs.

02

Slow internet & NBN drop-outs

Paying for 100 down and getting 25? Dropping out at 7pm every night? Half the time it's the modem, half the time it's the line — we test both, escalate to your provider if the line's the problem, and get you back to the speed you're paying for.

03

New NBN connection setup

Just moved in, the NBN is “active” but nothing works? We get the connection live, set up the modem properly, run a speed test, and walk you through what plan you actually need based on what you do online.

04

New router & modem setup

A new router straight from the box, replacing one your provider sent that's hopeless, or moving to your own gear. We get it on, named the way you want, with a strong password and the right settings — including port forwarding for cameras, NAS or game consoles.

05

Mesh systems & whole-home Wi-Fi

Older houses, double-brick, two storeys, anything north of 200 m² — a single router won't cut it. We design and install mesh systems and standalone access points so the signal is honest from the front door to the back fence.

06

Wired Ethernet & access points

When Wi-Fi just won't reach reliably, a discreet Ethernet run plus a ceiling or wall access point is the right answer. We can plan and install simple cable runs, or work with a cabler for the bigger jobs and finish the network configuration once the cable's in.

07

Smart devices that won't stay connected

Cameras, doorbells, smart TVs, watches, robot vacuums, kids' iPads — the device that drops off the network every other day. Usually it's a band, a channel or a guest-network setting. We sort the network so it actually holds onto the device.

08

Network security & guest Wi-Fi

A proper password on your main network, a separate guest network for visitors and IoT junk, and the firmware kept up to date — without making your phone forget the Wi-Fi every time it joins.

For business

Office network? We can help with that too.

If you’re running a small office or shopfront in Hobart we can supply, install and maintain the network — switches, access points, mesh, guest Wi-Fi, the lot. We also pick up existing networks installed by someone else and quietly keep them running.

For full small-business IT support beyond just the network — computers, accounts, backups, day-to-day help — see our Business IT support page.

● What we hear most

Heard yourself say any of these?

  • The Wi-Fi is rubbish in the back of the house.

Almost always fixable. Usually it's a placement issue or the house is too big for one router. We work out which on the visit.

  • We just moved in and the NBN doesn't work.

Common. Could be the line, the modem, or the activation. We bring spare gear and test it properly.

  • The internet drops out every night around dinner time.

Usually channel congestion or a modem that's overheating. Often a 10-minute fix once you know what to look for.

  • We pay for 100 Mbps but never get more than 30.

The connection or the Wi-Fi could be holding you back. We test both at the source and at the device, then sort whichever's at fault.

  • The doorbell keeps disconnecting and the camera is offline again.

Smart devices fall off Wi-Fi for boring reasons — bands, channels, signal strength. We make the network behave so they stop dropping.

  • Wi-Fi is fine in the lounge but useless in the granny flat.

That's a coverage problem. Mesh, an access point, or sometimes a wired run — we'll tell you which is right and what it costs before we start.

If any of those sound familiar, give us a call or book a visit — we'll work out what's going on.

Honest take

What we don’t do

We don’t pull NBN cables into your house from the street, or trench fibre. That’s NBN Co’s job and the cabler your provider sends. Once the connection is at your wall, we take it from there.

We don’t run structural cable through brick walls, ceiling cavities or under floors as a primary trade. For complex cabling jobs we work with a licensed cabler, or you can engage one directly and we’ll come back to commission the network.

Straight up

What you’ll spend, before we start.

A fixed hourly rate with no call-out fee within 25 km of the Hobart CBD. For those a little further out — up to 40 km — we still come to you, just with a small distance fee on top. The cost is agreed before we start, so there are no surprises when we leave.

If a job needs gear — mesh nodes, access points, an Ethernet run — we’ll quote the parts up front before we order anything.
