● What we help with

Smart home devices not acting very smart? We can fix that.

01

Smart speakers & voice assistants

New Google Home, an Echo or a HomePod that's still in the box, or one that "kind of works" but you can't get the lights to turn on with it? We set up the speaker, link your accounts, and teach it the voice commands you actually want — not the demo ones from the ad.

02

Cameras & video doorbells

Ring, Arlo, Eufy, Google Nest, Reolink — set up so you get notifications you actually care about, not one every time the wind moves a leaf. We position the camera, tune the motion zones, and make sure two-way audio and recording work the way you expect.

03

Smart lighting & switches

One bulb you've never used, or thirty that need turning into a working scheme. Hue, IKEA, smart switches, smart dimmers — paired, named, and grouped by room so a "lounge — movie" command does what it's supposed to.

04

Smart locks & keyless entry

A smart lock that lets you let the kids, the cleaner or a guest in without handing out keys, and a phone that opens the door as you walk up. We install (where the door allows), set up access codes, and make sure your existing key still works as a backup.

05

Robot vacuums, plugs & small smarts

Robot vacuums that map the house properly, smart plugs that turn the heater off when you've left it on, the kettle that boils as you walk in the door. The small jobs that make the house feel a step ahead.

06

Scenes, routines & schedules

"Goodnight" turns the lights off, locks the front door and arms the cameras. "Morning" opens the blinds and starts the coffee. We build the routines you actually want — not the marketing ones — and write them down so they're easy to change later.

07

Choosing the right ecosystem

Starting from scratch and not sure whether to go all-in on Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings? We sit down for half an hour, work out which devices you already have, what you want it to do, and steer you toward the ecosystem that won't trap you in a year. No upsell — we don't sell the kit.

08

Smart home help for parents & accessibility

A smart home that gives older parents independence — voice control for the lights, a video doorbell on a phone they actually check, a one-touch routine to ring family. We set it up, label things plainly, and stay until the people who'll use it can use it.

● What we hear most

Sound like your place? We hear it often.

  • I bought a Google Home and now I have three apps and no idea what they do.

Common. We work out which app actually controls what, simplify it, and only keep the ones you need.

  • I want a video doorbell but I don't know which one or where to start.

We'll listen to what you actually want it to do — notifications, recording, talking to delivery drivers — then suggest one that fits, and install it.

  • Mum wants to control the lights from her phone but it's beyond her.

That's a setup-and-teaching job, and one of our most common visits. We make it work simply, not cleverly.

  • Got a smart lock from Bunnings and the app keeps asking for stuff I don't understand.

We finish the install, set up codes for the people who need them, and make sure the physical key still works as a backup.

  • The cameras keep sending notifications when the dog walks past.

Motion zones aren't tuned yet. Five minutes of fiddling and you'll only get the alerts that matter.

  • We've got Hue, Ring and Alexa and they don't talk to each other.

Almost always fixable. Sometimes a routine in the right hub, sometimes a different bridge — we work out which.

If any of those sound familiar, give us a call or book a visit — we'll work out what's going on.

Book a visit

Straight up

Honest about cost. Even on the bigger jobs.

A fixed hourly rate with no call-out fee within 25 km of the Hobart CBD. For those a little further out — up to 40 km — we still come to you, just with a small distance fee on top. The cost is agreed before we start, so there are no surprises when we leave.

For larger smart-home jobs we’ll scope it out first, then quote the visit and any gear before we start.

● A visit, start to finish

Listen, set up, hand over.

01

We listen first.

Tell us what you have, what you want it to do, and what's been confusing. Half an hour of that and we already know what the job actually is.

02

We set it up properly.

On-site, at your place, working through each device and routine until it does exactly what it's supposed to. If the Wi-Fi is the real problem, we'll say so — see our Wi-Fi & networking page for that.

03

We hand it over.

We walk through everything we built, show you how to change it, and we don't leave until the people who'll use it can use it — not just the person who booked us.

● Smart home questions

Smart home questions, asked often.

Can't see yours? Give us a ring or send it through on the booking form and we'll get back to you — usually within a few hours during the day.

● Ready when you are

Smart home that actually feels smart.
